Port Douglas - Breakfast with the Birds

Normally we had breakfast in the apartment but once a week we had a special breakfast. During week one we decided to have Breakfast with the Birds at the Wildlife Habitat at the end of Port Douglas Road.
Tables are set out under a large canopy and visitors select their plates of food from a buffet. A number of birds watch from their perches as breafast is eaten.
Visitors also get to meet some of thebirds including Elvis.
After breakfast we explored the Wildlife Habitat.
James and Jabie, a pair of jabiru or black necked stork, are the star attractions in the welands area.
They are magnificent birds.
Other varieties of stork also live in the area.
Other birds look on.
In the rainforest area we met the cassowary.
Wandering around the Wildlife Habitat we also saw crocodiles
wallabies
emus
pelicans
and koalas
Breakfast with the Birds was a great experience.
