Perth - exploring the city

When in Perth for the Senior Cricket Australia National Championships earlier this month we had a chance to explore this city. We had visited Perth once before in the mid 1980s so it was interesting to visit again thirty years later.
Comfort Hotel, Hay Street, Perth
When in Perth we stayed at the Comfort Hotel in Hay Street which was a convenient location for exploring the city on foot. Bluerock is the restaurant and bar attached to the hotel. The hotel is around the corner from the WACA so during the First Test Match against South Africa coloured balloons decorated the fence of the outside seating area to attract passers-by to the restaurant. A barbecue each morning provided the opportunity to purchase egg and bacon sandwiches to eat on the way to the cricket. There was also a special Cricket Menu during the Test Match.

Most of the members of Victorian teams stayed at the Metro Hotel some distance from the city. We shared the hotel with members of the ACT cricket teams.

Perth Town Hall
Perth is an easy city to explore on foot. There is some interesting architecture with contrasts between older and new buildings.
